I have been working with art and community projects for over 20 years now, and in addition, I create my sculptures using wood, metal, plastics, and concrete. This might sound longer than it feels, as I am still in search of my forms, symbolism, and language. I am usually inspired by social themes and the way we as humans interact with them.
I greatly appreciate shapes found in nature; they serve as a boundless spring of inspiration for me. As a sculptor, it can be a challenge to work with the inherent beauty that already exists in the natural world. Nonetheless, when presented with remarkable architecture, the work of fellow artists, breathtaking photographs, or innovative designs, I am inspired by the possibility of experimenting with and building upon them. In my work, I strive to preserve the essence of the original substance or fabric while infusing it with my creative touch.
When working, I am flexible and accommodating with the material because I will encounter situations that may require me to change my initial plan. Working with the roots of trees is particularly demanding because it is not clear what this wood will be like and where the stones and soil will be hiding within it.
My sculptures are for sale. Please get in touch with me.
